SHELTON — A city man was charged this week after he stole a gun and several loaded magazines from a parked car last month, according to police.

Jerry Edouard, 37, was charged with third-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny, theft of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a high-capacity magazine.

He was held on a $50,000 bond.

Police said the charges stemmed from a complaint the department received on Sept. 26 about a vehicle burglary in the parking lot of a downtown restaurant.

Several items were taken from the vehicle, including a semi-automatic gun and several loaded magazines, police said.

As the Detective Bureau investigated, they secured a search-and-seizure warrant for the 37-year-old’s Shelton home, police said.

When they served the warrant, investigators found items stolen from the vehicle, including the gun and magazines, according to police.
