Police: man shot in Bridgeport, crashes motorcycle riding to hospital
A man with a gunshot wound crashed his three-wheeled motorcycle into another vehicle in Bridgeport Sunday night, after authorities said the man tried to take himself to the hospital.
Police were called to 1866 Seaview Avenue around 10 p.m. Sunday for a person down on the ground, said Scott Appleby, the city’s emergency management director.
City police said the man had been shot in the leg. Appleby said the shooting occurred on Newfield Avenue.
“He attempted to drive to the hospital but ended up crashing his three wheel motorcycle into the back of a SUV,” Appleby said.

The man was taken to Bridgeport Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, he said.
Bridgeport detectives were notified of the shooting and responded.
