STAMFORD — A city man was charged with sexual assault after he allegedly slapped a coed classmate on the buttocks at night school in Stamford Wednesday night.

Police said they charged Juan David Alba, 24, of Stamford, with fourth-degree sexual assault and was held overnight on a $5,000 court-appearance bond.

According to Alba’s police report, a police officer assigned to work at Rippowam Middle School for adult classes was approached by a woman about 8 p.m. who told him, “This boy slapped me on the butt,” and pointed to Alba.

The woman was crying uncontrollably and said she was fearful for her safety, the report said. The woman said she was bending over to drink at the water fountain when she was approached by Alba. She said she turned to Alba, who she never talked to but has one class with, and asked what he was doing. He inappropriately answered that he liked her buttocks, the report said.

Alba said several times that he did not mean to anger the woman and repeated to the officer that he liked the woman’s buttocks. He offered to apologize and said he did not slap her hard enough to hurt her.
