STAMFORD — Police say they are looking for a 41-year-old mother of two who was reported missing by her family on Monday.

Police say Karolina Martinez Vanni was last seen walking north on Lockwood Avenue from Cove Road around noon Monday. Police ask that anyone with information on where she is to call them.

Lt. Thomas Scanlan said there is an active investigation into Martinez’s whereabouts.

Roberto Cabrera, who said he has lived with Martinez for 20 years, said he did not see her leave but video from their home shows that she left at about 12:10 p.m. Cabrera said Martinez speaks Spanish, but has difficulty with English.

Cabrera said he and Martinez have two girls ages 11 and 13.

“We’ve lived here for around 20 years,” Cabrera said by telephone Tuesday afternoon. “I have no idea where she would have gone.”

Scanlon said a bloodhound sent out to track her on Tuesday was unable to find her.

“There is no evidence of foul play,” Scanlon said. “There is nothing right now that indicates foul play other than her disappearance. We don’t have any reason for her disappearance.”

Anyone with information on Martinez’s whereabouts is asked to call police investigators at 203-977-4417.
