State Police: Bridgeport man fired shots from car on I-95
STRATFORD — A Bridgeport man has been arrested on charges that he fired a gun from a car on I-95 north on Sunday afternoon.
Matthew A. Bouton, 27, of High Ridge Drive, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, discharge of a firearm, second-degree breach of peace and criminal possession of a firearm, ammunition and a dangerous weapon.
State Police said just before 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Troop G started to receive 911 reports of shors being fired in the area of Exit 28 in Bridgeport. Reports also came in near Exit 32 in Stratford.
“Witnesses reported a white man with a bull beard was firing a handgun from a gray Ford Focus that continued northbound on I-95,” according to the arrest report.
State police said no one was injured.
“Within a short period of time, with the assistance of the New Haven Police Department, a suspect was identified, and the vehicle was located on Grand Avenue in New Haven.”
With the assistance of the State Police Emergency Services Unit, Bouton was taken into custody without incident.
Bouton was held on $100,000 bond and will appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on May 22.
