BRIDGEPORT — A jackknifed tractor-trailer closed lanes on Interstate 95 south in the city for nearly an hour Monday morning.

Police, firefighters and medics were dispatched to I-95 south in the area of Exit 27A just after 10 a.m. for a reported crash involving a tractor-trailer with a possible fuel spill, according to initial dispatch reports.

Fires units en route confirmed a tractor-trailer spin out with ruptured saddle tanks in the area, with debris in the two right lanes.

The three right lanes are closed to traffic, with drivers still able to pass through the area by the left lane. Traffic delays are quickly building up in the area of the spin out.

There were no serious injuries reported.

Personnel from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection also responded to the crash, and requested a state Department of Transportation sand truck to the crash site for the spill.

By 11 a.m., emergency responders were still on scene on the right shoulder of the highway. All other lanes had reopened.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
