WATERBURY — A fifth teen was recently charged in connection with a drive-by shooting that killed Isaiah Colon earlier this month, according to police.

Four teens have already been arrested and charged for their role in the shooting death of Colon on May 14 around 10 p.m. in the area of Willow Street and Woodlawn Terrace.

Police learned there was a fifth person “in the suspect vehicle during this drive-by shooting” and arrested that 17-year-old suspect at 11 a.m. Wednesday, police said on Thursday.

The juvenile with conspiracy at murder, conspiracy at first-degree assault, weapons in a motor vehicle, possession of a large capacity magazine and carrying a pistol without a permit.

The teen is being held at a juvenile detention facility pending arraignment.

Colon, 26-year-old Waterbury resident, died from a gunshot wound to the torso, according to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Already charged in connection with this crime are: 19-year-old Jan Santiago, 18-year-old Byron E. Cruz, 18-year-old Evel Pacheco and another 17-year-old juvenile.
