FAIRFIELD — The drive from the Merritt Parkway, Exit 44, up Black Rock Turnpike along the Hemlock Reservoir to the white clapboard colonial at 312 Shrub Oak Lane is a relaxing one. Stress seems to melt away with each passing second of the 1.6-mile, three-minute ride from the parkway to the house.
