WILTON — There was a time, not so many decades ago, when a large apple orchard grew along a section of scenic Nod Hill Road near Olmstead Hill Road. Back then itinerant workers would come into town to work in the orchard. A handful of those workers were housed in a guest cottage in front of the beige shingle Cape Cod house at 60 Nod Hill Road.
Although some of the orchard remains, it is not a large commercial agricultural business and there is no longer need for temporary workers to pick the ripened fruit. The guest cottage is being used by the current owner as an office but it would make a charming art studio. It has a full bath, and lovely views across street of meadows and the orchard.
