FAIRFIELD - As the holiday season approaches, family bakers will soon start mixing batter to make Christmas cookies. Some of them will be formed using cookie cutters, while other people prefer the free-form variety, each cookie slightly different from the other.
The same is true in architectural structures. There are some potential home-buyers who are searching for what are sometimes referred to as the "cookie-cutter colonials," those houses that seem to have the same outward appearance, footprint and features. Others prefer the uniqueness of a one-of-a-kind residence.
