Darien U8 softball wins Trumbull Invitational

The Darien 8U Softball team recently won the annual Trumbull Invitational Softball Tournament 11-8 over Trumbull. Darien Little League's 8U Softball team recently won the Trumbull Little League’s annual 8U Invitational Softball Tournament at Unity Park in Trumbull.

After finishing the pool play round 3-0, Darien then defeated Monroe and Wilton in the elimination round, advancing to the championship, in which they topped Trumbull 11-8. Darien finished the tournament undefeated with a record of 6-0.

In the championship game, Darien jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Big hits from Darien’s Kaitlyn Cruikshank and Reagan Mullane, along with solid pitching from Kendall Kaschel, Maddie McCarthy and Ava Rongoe, secured the 11-8 win over Trumbull.
