The Fairfield American 11-year-olds' sectional championship party will have to wait at least another day.

American scored in every inning, but inclement weather forced its game with Berlin into suspension in the third inning. Fairfield is leading the Section 1 championship 10-4 and will have two on with two out when the game resumes on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Milford.

After falling behind 3-0, Fairfield exploded for six runs in its first at-bat. Jack Steed had the big blow, socking a grand slam that gave Fairfield the lead.

Jamie Flink has three RBIs and two runs scored, and John Reynolds also had two hits and two runs scored.
