"We have a pretty good offense," Elliott said. "But we'll see how it matches up in state finals."
Fairfield outscored its sectional opponents 55-8 in its four games, including a 17-0 win over Greenwich in its' first round robin contest, a result that gave Elliott said "gave Fairfield confidence" leading up to the rematch.
Fairfield built a 8-1, fourth inning lead, thanks in part to Platz. The pitcher helped her own cause, driving in three runs, with two hits.
Platz then allowed two runs in the fourth, but held Greenwich off the board after that.
