Fairfield Ludlowe girls tennis beats rival Warde
The Fairfield Ludlowe girls tennis team's singles players are among the league's most consistent.
And the Falcons' singles players proved it against their staunchest rivals.
Ludlowe's four singles players swept Warde's, as the Falcons beat their crosstown-rival 5-2 on Tuesday at Warde.
Lindsey Evans, Daria Efimov and Cami and Kyra Adajian all won, as the Falcons beat the Mustangs for the third straight time. Ludlowe is now 8-2.
"They're one of the backbones of this team," Ludlowe coach John Reisert said. "We get excellent and consistent play, anchored by [Evans]."
The Mustangs were led by No. 1 singles duo Megan and Erin Hines, which beat Ludlowe's Colleen Fitzpatrick/Sarah Boyle 6-1, 6-1. Warde fell to 5-5.

"It was a good match with a lot of long points," Warde coach Marilyn Jamgochian said. "The girls all played well."
Evans and Cami Adajian both remained unbeaten, polishing off their opposition in straight sets.
Although Evans won 6-1, 6-0, Jamgochian saw her No. 1 player, freshman Jenny Schneider, perform admirably.
"The points were long," Jamgochian said. "She knows she faces the best of the best and comes out enthusiastic and has an amazing attitude. She's getting used to the heightened competition and is improving every match."
Efimov's 6-4, 6-2 win over freshman Emily Simonds was marked by her comeback from 0-3 down in the first set.
"[Efimov] found her game," Jamgochian said.
But Cami Adajian's 6-3, 6-0 win over Kenzie Burns was quickly followed by Kyra Adajian's 6-3, 6-1 win over Emily Schmerzler.
"The Adajian girls are just so consistent," Jamgochian said. "Our girls are trying for more winners and would make an error, as opposed to the Adajians who just hit everything back."
