The Fairfield wrestling teams netted impressive wins at away meets this past weekend.

Fairfield Warde finished first out of 19 teams at the Merrimack (N.H.) Invitational, the Mustangs had three first-place finishes at the meet.

Ludlowe also had a successful Saturday, winning three out of four dual meets at the Farmington Duals.

Fairfield Prep went 1-1, beating Darien, but falling to New Canaan on Saturday in Darien.

The Mustangs improved to 8-1, but fell to seventh in the Norwich Bulletin poll. Pharoh Eaton (132), Thomas Anania (160) and Mike Money (285) each went undefeated, taking first-place honors in their respective weight classes. Money took first in heavyweight at the expense of his teammate Amed Hourani.

Warde also had four wrestlers go 4-1 and finish third at the meet. David Wolff, Joey Marx, Kevin Kollar and Dylan Bender each took third place medals.

Ludlowe, coming of its first win over Stamford, improved to 9-4 by winning three matches at the Farmington Duals on Saturday at Farmington High School. The Falcons were led by Henry Wales, Ben Batulanon and Eric Kirchgasser and Alex Sullivan, each of whom went 3-1 on the day. Kirchgasser's three wins came via pins. Ludlowe defeated Wilton 48-27, Northwestern 80-6 and 47-27 over Foran.

Wales was the only wrestler to win a match against Farmington when the Falcons fell 60-12 to the Indians. Matt Garoffolo took home a forfeit win over Farmington, as well.
