No fans at Sacred Heart University basketball, hockey games until further notice
Sacred Heart announced that fans won’t be allowed at home basketball and hockey games until further notice due to COVID-19.
The announcement applies to all spectators, including the families of student-athletes, coaches and staff, with the exception of essential personnel, at the William H. Pitt Center on campus as well as any off-campus competition locations.
Sacred Heart will consult with leadership at the university, public health experts and the local government to monitor the situation and reevaluate the decision in the future.
The men’s and women’s basketball and hockey teams are both expected to start their seasons next month. The Atlantic Hockey Association announced plans for the 2020-21 schedule including Sacred Heart while the Northeast Conference should be announcing the basketball scheduling format in the coming days.
