Sacred Heart University sophomore guard Cameron Parker set the Division I men’s basketball single game record with 24 assists in a 101-57 win over Pine Manor on Sunday.

Charleston Southern’s Tony Fairley, Southern University’s Avery Johnson and Sherman Douglas of Syracuse each had 22 assists in a game in the late 1080s and on Dec. 19, 2017 current Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young finished with 22 assists in Oklahoma’s game against Northwestern State.

Koreem Ozier had 30 points while E.J. Anosike finished with 26 points and 14 rebounds. Parker’s final three assists of the game came on Anosike layups as he tied the Division I record with 6:59 left to play, got his 23rd assist 32 seconds later and his final assist of the game was recorded with 5:13 remaining for Sacred Heart (4-4). A total of 15 of his assists came on baskets by either Anosike or Ozier. Parker has 40 assists in his last two games after handing out 16 against Quinnipiac on Nov. 24 after dishing out 16 assists in the Pioneers’ game against Quinnipiac on Nov. 24.

Fairfield 67, Texas A&M 62: Landon Taliaferro set a program record with 10 3-pointers at the Orlando Invitiational.

Mike Evanovich set the Fairfield record with nine 3-pointers in 2010 and Curtis Cobb matched that mark in 2017. Taliaferro was 10 of 15 on 3-pointers and 12 of 18 overall en route to 34 points helping the Stags pick up their second win of the season.

Vincent Eze added 10 points and 13 rebounds for Fairfield (2-6).
