Amelia Brackett had nine aces and 10 kills as the Staples girls volleyball team improved to 5-0 with a sweep of Fairfield Warde Monday in a FCIAC matchup. The Mustangs dropped to 4-2 oveall and 3-2 in the conference.

For Warde, Kenzie Burns had six kills, six service points, five aces and four blocks and Kaitlin McKenna had five kills, 12 service points, two aces and one block. The Mustangs lost their second straight match after opening the 2013 season with four straight victories, the last three in three-game sweeps. Warde plays host to Westhill of Stamford at Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Lauren Mushro added three aces and 13 kills and Ariana Sherman chipped in 21 assists for the Wreckers, who won 25-16, 25-11 and 26-24.
