Fairfield Warde heavyweight Ahmed Hourani finished second at Saturday's New England Wrestling Championships.

Hourani defeated state champions from Massachusetts and New Hampshire -- he defeated St. John's Prep's (Mass.) Corey Jean-Jacques, 9-4 and pinned Pinkerton's (N.H.) Camden Crowell. Hourani then beat Jonathan Comeau of Belmont, Mass., 10-9 and pinned Rhode Island's Anthony Tavares in 28 seconds.

Hourani led Mount Anthony's (Vt.) Jesse Webb, 2-1 before Webb pinned Warde's heavyweight.

Hourani finished the tournament 4-1 and is the first junior to ever place at New Englands from Warde
